What to expect from a coaching session?
It is important to note that all coaching sessions are dependent upon the individual needs of each client, so no two appointments will be identical. However, generally speaking during your first session you can expect the following:
- 5 minutes of getting to know one another. It is important to build connection and trust so we can collaboratively work through your unique needs.
- What are you passionate about? What do you hope to accomplish in your work or life? Where are you stuck?
- 5 minutes of identifying what your specific needs are
- What topics are you hoping to cover?
- If you are unsure of what exactly you need to work on, I will ask a series of open-ended questions to better understand your needs
- 5 Minutes of setting goals & expectations
- What can we realistically expect to achieve in a one-hour session? How does this connect to a larger plan?
- 30 minutes of solving. With your goals established, we can begin to work to address them
- We will ideate and explore strategies on how to improve your area of need
- I will pose questions to you in a way that helps you become an active agent in meeting your goals (instead of being told answers, you will help generate them)
- As you are the expert of your own life and career, I will offer guiding and self-reflective questions that aim to reveal the information you need in order to progress toward your goals.
- 10 minutes of devising a game plan and next steps
- You will leave an advising session with direction, tasks, and goals
- 5 minutes for questions and wrap-up
